I had to laugh... we got home from dinner tonight and the crew was here and waiting for their snacks! One baby was so hungry he was trying to nurse as Sweetie was urgently trying to get our attention to take the pressure off. Of course I took a few minutes to take some photos before we put them out of their misery.
Why is it when I go to the grocery store, like I did today, that half of my cart is snacks for the raccoons? Crackers, grapes, dog food, and today I tried something new for them. Vanilla sandwich cookies. I would say they are a hit with the crowd.
This is the time I've been waiting for... when the babies feel comfortable enough to take food from me, and this week was it! One baby did it a few days ago, and today, all of them were brave enough to take a cracker. Maybe it was the extra lure of peanut butter. ah....so cute!!!
It is HOT here in So Cal, so I was inspired to do a group shot of my kids...ready for the beach! Then I decided to add one of the raccoons to the group. Just FYI, the cats are really wearing the shirts and glasses, the raccoon (of course) is not. ;)
This little dude was cracking me up!! At this point I knew they would totally come in if I let them, so thought it best to put the crackers in the ridge of the threshold instead. Sweetie as usual, will take as many as she can grab! P.S. I have not entirely searched the yard, but the toy has yet to be seen again.
"Hey! What's this???" "Can I eatz it?" "No. Dangit. I'll take a cracker instead..." "On second thought, it look like fun" "I'll take it under the table so my brudders don't steals it"
I am known as the Grape Lady, and my husband is the Cracker Man. We try to help out the little critters whose habitat is ravaged by development. Plus, they are just super cute!
