Raccoon Summer

It's been a good raccoon summer. Not as good as last year, but in some ways - better. I desperately miss my friend Giggles and Shadow. I hope they are well, wherever they are. But I do have their mom and her three new kits, one of which looks more and more like Shadow everyday. I have also really been enjoying the mom and four smaller babies - they are just adorable, and still pretty little. Last night they came to visit and played in the pots and dug up my rosemary. It was dead already, so I didn't mind. The little one played with the hose in between batting the ice cubes around and having snacks. It's such a good feeling to know that I am making their lives maybe just a little bit better and more fun when they visit my yard.
