The Sleeper

A few weeks ago I was walking past the back door and had to stop in my tracks! There was a big ole' raccoon completely zonked out by the water dish. At first he was curled up to it, his chin resting on the side - sleeping. At next glace a few minutes later was on his back, all four feet pointed stright up and his mouth hanging open. It was hysterical! Then I thought he might be dead or dying (not so funny....) but he was still breathing, so it seemed ok. I grabbed my camera as this was a priceless photo op. Through the glass it wouldn't focus, and I couldn't open the door as that would have awakened him for sure. So all I got was this one crappy shot after he rolled over. But his nap will be in my memory forever! (and he was fine, apparently just tired!)
