It's been a long time since I've posted anything - but here is a video update! One of our grown up babies braved the RAIN, RAIN and more RAIN today to come get a snack... I just got a Flip video, so this is the first try. I think I need to add additional lighting, but it's not too bad! (Click through to YouTube to view in full scale)

Friend or Foe?
This is my baby JoJo, sitting opposite "Orange Kitty". It may look cordial, but the stare down was intense. After a few moments the Exorcist noises began and she started bouncing off the glass. For her, the answer is definitely foe.

Trixie is back!
Trixie comes almost every night, but has been coming really really late (or really really early depending on your point of view) and we haven't seen her much lately. But as I was doing dishes tonight I saw her having a snack and thought I would add some treats. As usual she took as much as she could get in her mouth and hands!

Trick or Treat?
One of Sweetie's kids has been coming almost every night. I guess it's time she got a name of her own. (Please send me your suggestions!) Not sure it it's a boy or girl. I'm guessing girl since the boys seem to go out and find their own territory and the girls are the only ones that come back year after year.
This little cutie apparently has been into some mischief and has a web or something on her face. Her version of trick or treating perhaps! She got some treats for it.
P.S. How do you get "sleep" out of a raccoons eye without losing your hand?

Snacks in the Rain
We got a little rain today, but that does not stop our little snacker! One of Sweetie's babies came to visit and her fur was all wet, however it didn't stop her appetite. She has a small wound on her right paw. I've seen similar before and they tend to heal very well. As for the sleep in her eyes, I want to wipe it away for her!

Stubby Sighting
Last night Stubby back home. We found her napping on the rug right outside the door. She belongs here and she knows it.
One of the babies came for a snack while she was here, and she growled quite a bit, but I talked her down and put out plenty of crackers for them both to enjoy.

An Overdue Update
Hi Friends! It's been a couple weeks now and the kits are venturing out on their own. I haven't seen Sweetie too often, but these two kids of hers are still here almost every night. No Stubby sightings lately. Boo. But it's that time of year.
These two are entertaining and cute as ever.

When good cats go bad....
Lenny said my cat looked cool, well, sometimes they think they are cooler than they are and they get in trouble. hee hee. They really are good cats, despite what it looks like. The one in the middle is Oliver, who was in post below with Orange Kitty.

Orange Kitty
This blog started as a chronicle of all the characters that visited our backyard. It certainly is overwhelmingly raccoons, but occasionally we get others as well. Meet Orange Kitty. (I know, we are sooo creative with our names)
Mom... are you seeing dis?

I spoke too soon
Stubby came by tonight sans kits (hers were a few months older than Sweeties). She had some crackers and is currently sleeping in the yard. I wish she would just stay here forever.

We're Baaaack!
And I guess by that, I mean "I'm back" because they raccoons have been here all along, I have just been remiss in posting their photos. The last week or so it's been Sweetie and two babies, instead of four. Time for the other two to break away from mom and start exploring on their own I suppose. Stubby didn't come as often this summer as last, which kind of makes me sad. Don't know if it's because Sweetie and her kits were ruling the roost, or they found other cool places to hang out. Still hoping to see Stubs more in the future. But here is Sweetie and her two BIG babies from this evening - eating crackers off my knee and feet!

Raccoons in da house!!!
To be fair, I did invite them in.... this is Sweetie's bravest little kit. He kind of reminds me of Snapper from last year.
"Um, fanks! I will take dis one, and you poot the udder one in my moufth."

Self Serve Night
It was self serve tonight. The babies were all very polite and took just one at a time. Not like their mother. (Yes, Sweetie, I'm looking at you.)
Well, well well... look what we have here!
It's been a few years since the raccoons regularly visited us on the second floor balcony, but looks like they are going to restart the tradition!

Desperate = Cute
I had to laugh... we got home from dinner tonight and the crew was here and waiting for their snacks! One baby was so hungry he was trying to nurse as Sweetie was urgently trying to get our attention to take the pressure off. Of course I took a few minutes to take some photos before we put them out of their misery.
