Wait...wait... there are FOUR!!

I was very happy to see the two kits this week, but I was thrilled last night when Sweetie came back with not just the two, but with four! The more the merrier. I sat with them and played and got to know them all. Several were already brave enough to take a cracker from me. Adorable overload! I love how they play, and they always seem to love the outdoor rug.

One was taunting me about destroying my plant, but he was bluffing.

They are HERE, they are HERE!!

I was beginning to worry that we wouldn't have any babies this year. Haven't seen Sweetie nearly as much as we did last year, but tonight... VIOLA!! Sweetie and two kits appear at the magic pots. Taking their ques from mom, they weren't afraid of us and enjoyed some laughs and good snacks. Are there more kits out there we haven't seen yet?? Guess we have to wait and see. But aren't these guys cute??!?!

Where my babies at?!?

Baby watch

Well, I just checked the archives, and this time last year we already had seen a group of kits. So far we haven't seen any. Stubby and two other coons, which we think are her kids, still come every night for snacks. One night they all came at the same time and got along, so we think they are related.

It's the time of year, and I hope Stubby isn't too old to have kits! Keep you eyes on the blog and hopefully there will be baby pictures soon!!

Hi Lenny! By the way, I gave Stubs an English muffin with some grape jelly (at your suggestion) and she loved it! :)

An Overdue Update

It's been a long time since I've posted anything, but in the winter it's all pretty status quo. Stubby comes almost every night. Like tonight, waiting by the door and knowing we will see her and fill her bowl. She is just the sweetest old coon. I hope she has a bunch of kits this year because we always have such a good time with her babies!!




She looks so mean when she crunches, but she is really the farthest thing from it!



Then she tells a joke and has a good laugh....

It's a little in the winter, but one of our old "kids" comes to visit pretty often. Always has a smile to share to say thanks.

Cashews in the Rain!

It's been a long time since I've posted anything - but here is a video update! One of our grown up babies braved the RAIN, RAIN and more RAIN today to come get a snack... Friend or Foe?

This is my baby JoJo, sitting opposite "Orange Kitty". It may look cordial, but the stare down was intense. After a few moments the Exorcist noises began and she started bouncing off the glass. For her, the answer is definitely foe.

Trixie is back!

Trixie comes almost every night, but has been coming really really late (or really really early depending on your point of view) and we haven't seen her much lately. But as I was doing dishes tonight I saw her having a snack and thought I would add some treats. As usual she took as much as she could get in her mouth and hands!

Trick or Treat?

One of Sweetie's kids has been coming almost every night. I guess it's time she got a name of her own. (Please send me your suggestions!) Not sure it it's a boy or girl. I'm guessing girl since the boys seem to go out and find their own territory and the girls are the only ones that come back year after year.

This little cutie apparently has been into some mischief and has a web or something on her face. Her version of trick or treating perhaps! She got some treats for it.

P.S. How do you get "sleep" out of a raccoons eye without losing your hand?

Snacks in the Rain

We got a little rain today, but that does not stop our little snacker! One of Sweetie's babies came to visit and her fur was all wet, however it didn't stop her appetite. She has a small wound on her right paw. I've seen similar before and they tend to heal very well. As for the sleep in her eyes, I want to wipe it away for her!
